Anahita in the Marina of Cascais, just after our Atlantic crossing. We had visited Cascais before and loved the little town. Unfortunately, the marina was fully booked from June to July because of the World Sailing Championship.

After six months in the Caribbean, we immediately fell in love with the authenticity of Lisbon. Elegantly dressed people, old houses, the odors of the Pastelarias in the air, the taste of olive oil, coffee houses in the streets, the colors of the trees, fish and wine for lunch, the noises of a Latin town - it felt great to be back in Europe.

View from Mouraria.

Baixa - the old commercial part of Lisbon.

View from the cafeteria of the cultural center of Belem on the Tejo. In the background, you can see the Monumento das Descobertas. In Lisbon, we found many places where we would have enjoyed to hang around for hours.

The public library in the Jardim da Estrela.

The yellow trams are part of the charm of Lisbon.

After more than a month in Lisbon we sailed in one day to the Algarve. The golden cliffs at the entrance to Lagos made us forget that the little trip was a bit rougher than expected. it's now the meta-story in alexa's book.

In Lagos we rented a car to discover the Algarve and Alentejo. The picture shows the beach of Odeceixe on the west coast of the Algarve.

Hords of tourists - many of them british - come to visit the Algarve. This doesn´t diminish the beauty of the scenery.
